The President called the meeting to order at 6:35pm.
Discussions:
Approve Minutes – Diane
A motion was made to approve the minutes of the June 25, 2025, meeting. A motion to accept the minutes was made by Sheldon and seconded by Noel. The motion was voted on and approved.
Diane will post the minutes to the forum for membership.
Financials – Lance
The Live Oak CD’s were renewed.
There was a $500 donation to the Portland Homeless Outreach group from December 2024, that was not recorded until July 2025.
Classes
Year to date, fourteen students participated/registered in events.
Events Committee
Mission Outdoors – Date for the event is August 1st. A few more volunteers are needed to help.
Kalama – Teams sold out of food, The BINGO cards were a good idea, except some patrons just collected stamps from the teams without purchasing food.
Clearwater – There are 23 teams registered. Bill said to plan on about 100-150 samples per team. The vending price of items sold should not exceed $5.00. Teams will need to provide their own cash/change fund/credit card reader. Teams keep 100% - no split with the casino.
Ellensburg – Cancelled.
Feed the Troops Fairchild – David Adams is working on a discount from Chef’store to help defray costs.
Enumclaw – The contest is happening. The organizer is looking for ways to increase revenue by more sponsors and demos, to be break even. New teams have shown interest in this contest.
Camp Korey – The organizers are working on the donated meat, and how the sampling will work.
Annual Meeting – Will be held at the Clearwater Casino.
New Business -
Jack Daniels/American Royal Contests – There was a discussion on how much money to allocate to teams traveling to the Jack and the Royal events. Adam made a motion to give $500 for a single contest, or $750 for both contests to teams attending. The head cook must be a current member of the PNWBA, and the contest that they won to get the entry to either contest must have been a PNWBA event. Sheldon seconded the motion, and the motion passed 12-1.
Adjourn:
A motion to adjourn the meeting was made at 7:48pm and seconded. The motion was voted on and approved, and the meeting was adjourned.
The next meeting will be on August 27, 2025, at 6:30pm.
