Alas, it is always hard to say goodbye, but the time has come-- fortunately it will only be temporary.
My family and I are moving to Vietnam for several years. This has been something we have had on the back burner for a while now, so we're really excited to be going. As the barbecue scene there is in its pre-comtemplative phase, I don't imagine I'll be competing much. With that said though, Dave and Angie from Well-Seasoned challenged me to start the VBA (Vietnam Barbecue Association). I've never been one to back down on a challenge so maybe I'll be seeing some of you at The Jack!
Those of us at the Smoke Collective would like to thank everyone for all of the fun and good times over the last several years. This especially goes to all of the judges, organizers, and those of you "behind the scenes." You folks aren't acknowledged enough, so thank you so much. We have met so many really great people, and we look forward to May every year knowing that we have the honor of cooking and hanging out with all you guys.
For now, so long, but we will see all of you again, I'm sure.

| I hope you have a safe and enjoyable move. Please let us know when the first VBA event will be. It will also helpful to know if the meats will be something other than the standard meats. I have cooked exotic meats like Kangaroo and Musk Ox, but have not tried smoking Water Buffalo. Please advise! Good luck Jeremy. |

| Thanks guys. And Tom, I haven't given too much thought as to what the competition meats will be at VBA events, but I can say with 65% certainty that it will not be canine! |
