Hi all!

I am so excited to be working on this competition!

This year it has moved to a new location with it being hosted just outside Yakima at Selah on the Tree Top plant. Yes, I am sorry to say no more midnight prison drumming sessions, no more crazy long distance walks to the turn –in, unfortunately it will also be cooler location with breezes and open spaces.
There is also no need to rush off work on Friday as it is also a shorter event with gates not opening to the public until 4pm Saturday with first extra category turn-in at 5pm, don’t worry about packing Sunday breakfast as we will be providing it. I am sure these changes will keep people away in droves, but it is a burden we will all need to bare.

But watch out there is a BBQ Boogie at 8pm on Saturday night! what is that? Well you will have to come to find out!

But seriously application forms are out and a cool new judge sign-up is available (see judges section).

Let’s hit 100 teams this year! There is a $10,000 Grand Champion prize again this year! This is the premium Pacific Northwest event and the only one in Washington to give an automatic invitation to the World Food Championship in Las Vegas.

Bring it on!

I didn't see the cooks registration form via the PNWBA home page or the Skewered Apple site. Where do you find it?

I have a quick question about parking at this event. It states there will be designated parking for all teams & judges. Is there any reason a motor home could not park in this same area?

Put in the wish list size and we will try to accomodate - this would be a site suitable size to fit an 'extreme BBQ trailer' or RV as part of the site (these are limited but we will do our best). If you select this, for $250 I will personally ring you and discuss your needs

I personally was looking more just to have it in the general parking area, not in our pit area. If that was a possiblity. It does not have to be physically at our pit area.

The RV (motor home) parking will be closer to (in) the competition area, if you are a judge with an RV then you can park in the parking area, if you don't want to be close to your competition set-up (or pay for this extra space) you can park in the parking area.
There will be no power or amenities in the parking area.
Please let me know if this doesn't answer your question.

Saffron, Piggy D's BBQ will be mailing in registration today. We're asking for the large space ($250). We talked about what we need at Snohomish with our truck canopy and pit.

How can you PayPal for the $250 XL space with power? There is only the basic 10x20 $150 Fee on the PNWBA Payments Page? Can we add those to the registration basket or do we need to go snail mail??

Please advise

The PayPal link for all selected spaces is working as designed. This opens in a seperate browser windows or tab for security reasons.

The times that I have crossed, neither side has asked about meat. But also I didn't volunteer that I was carrying it. When asked about what is in my trailer, I just say BBQ equipment to cook the BBQ contest I'm going to and the equipment will be returning with me. I put the veggie cooler in the truck, and the meat cooler in the trailer.
There is a section on Canadian Agricultural Products at this link.
They don't talk about weight limits like there are when we cross from US to Canada, but I might have missed them.

Happy to help you with US places to purchase meat if you want a back up plan.
