Hi
I'm new to this forum and looking for some advice.
I am building a smoker of my own I have 2 stainless steel barrels welded end to end so approx 110" long. In order to distribute the heat and avoid hot spots the thought was to off set the firebox about 18". But that's a lot of space to heat to get to temp. Second thought is to offset the firebox 18" and put one firebox on each end. Does this sound right , any other thoughts on heat distribution is very much welcome.

Thanks for the time

Don

Hi Don, I'm in the process of building a reverse flow smoker. Here's an excellent resource. www.smokerbuilder.com They even have a calculator on their website to aid in firebox dimensions for your size tank, cooking chamber inlet and outlet sizes, smoke stack length and size, etc.
