From Salem:

· Hwy 22 to Mill City

· Turn RIGHT at the Circle K store

· Go 1 block, turn LEFT and follow road down hill

· Cross green bridge

· Turn LEFT (oncoming traffic from right does NOT STOP) onto 1st Street

· Go approx 2 blocks to FAIRVIEW St. (Our new City Hall is on the left side, next to the Fire Dept.)

· Turn LEFT onto Fairview.

· Follow Fairview to the park.

From Bend/Sisters:

· Hwy 22 to Mill City

· Turn LEFT at the Circle K store

· Go 1 block, turn LEFT and follow road down hill

· Cross green bridge

· Turn LEFT (oncoming traffic from right does NOT STOP) onto 1st Street

· Go approx 2 blocks to FAIRVIEW St. (Our new City Hall is on the left side, next to the Fire Dept.)

· Turn LEFT onto Fairview.

· Follow Fairview to the park.

This map shows the access road that goes thru the park, as well as the main shelter (judges’ area) and the gravel parking lot which can be accessed via 6th St.: http://goo.gl/maps/SxSs

The Wooden Nickel’s restaurant will be set up at the end of the picnic shelter that does NOT have the walkway (spreading over toward the gravel lot)

My plan is to block out 20 x 20 spaces along the access road, alternating sides so everyone has access to the road (and so the spectators have a place to walk—this is where our vendors will set up Tuesday/Wednesday, as well). *I* get to do the blocking—no City staff can be spared and overtime isn’t permitted for them. I will likely do that tomorrow evening (Thurs) or Friday morning so it’s ready when teams who are overnighting arrive.

Also in the area will be one table for the 4th of July Committee’s T-shirt sales (my HQ), and a spot for a local business’ monster truck and booth for their shirt/merch sales and a stage with intermittent performances (mostly music—Glen Damewood is coordinating that). In the afternoon, there will be old fashioned family games in a nearby section of the park, then after the awards ceremony wraps up, there will be a picnic and prayer service sponsored by the local Ministerial Alliance. So we should get some decent traffic (I hope!!) if the weather holds.

Other info teams might want…

· The only gas station we have in town is on Hwy 22 a few blocks west of the Circle K. The closest gas other than that is 8 miles west in Mehama, then several options in Stayton (15 miles toward Salem).

· There is a full grocery store (not Fred Meyer “full” but not a convenience store either) on 1st St. to the south of Fairview (left turn when coming from the park). There is a Safeway and a Roth’s in Stayton. There is also a Bi-Mart in Stayton.

· The closest hospital/ER is also in Stayton. The closest urgent care is in Salem.

· The Santiam Sportsmen’s Center (on the west end of town, on Hwy 22) sells some BBQ supplies (wood chips, etc) as well as fishing gear, licenses, etc.

· Giovanni’s Mountain Pizza is GOOD. Poppa Al’s is good too. Both are on Hwy 22, in the middle of the highway section of town.

· Rosie’s Mountain Coffeehouse (just east of Giovanni’s on the highway) is outstanding. They do breakfast and lunches.

· The Mountain Edge Café (between Circle K and the US Bank branch on Hwy 22 toward Salem) does breakfast and lunch well.

· The Wooden Nickel will be onsite in the park Saturday afternoon/evening for dinner etc. and will also be serving lunch/dinner on Sunday.

Thanks
