This topic is for signing up for the Juarez Canyon contest only. Please do not post to this topic until 7:00 PM on Tuesday July 25th.
If you have questions or comments, please ask them over in the "PNWBA Events" section under Juarez Canyon Registration Procedure."

After 7:00pm on July 25th, you will need to post your head cook’s name and team name in the forum. (The person posting does not need to be the head cook named, but should be a regular team member. Only one team may register per post.) This will create a time stamped list of the teams that wish to sign up for this contest. We will create a confirmed list of teams in order of sign up, and at that point you have 48 hours to make payment by Pay Pal or check, and submit a registration form to treasurer@pnwba.com, or by mail. (See below.) If you do not submit your payment and registration form after 48 hours, you will be removed from the confirmed list, and your spot will be made available to the first team on the waiting list.
The first 23 dated and time stamped posts will be entered onto the confirmed list. If you are interested in the event and 23 teams are already on the confirmed list, still post your name and team name. The wait list will be created in order of post date and time.

Payments and Registration forms sent in by Postal Mail
If you wish to pay by check, and/or mail in your registration form, we suggest that you mail your check and/or registration form by around July 19th. This way we will receive your letter in time. Every team is held to the same “48 hours to pay” rule, regardless of payment method. We will not cash your check if you are not on the confirmed list. We will hold your check if you are on the waiting list, and we will return your check to you if you do not ultimately wind up on the confirmed list. If your team is from Canada, we highly recommend using Pay Pal and email to submit your payment and registration, due to the uncertainty in cross-border mail service delivery times.

Withdrawing from the Contest
If you need to withdraw from the contest after registering and making payment, we will apply your registration to a future full-service contest at the PNWBA Board of Directors discretion. Your spot will then be offered to the next team on the waiting list. Any withdrawals from the contest made after 5:00pm PDT on Monday, August 28, 2017 will not receive a refund or a carryover to a future contest. Requests to withdraw should be sent to treasurer@PNWBA.com.

Other Rules
The team’s head cook as registered for the contest, must be at the contest. There are no pass downs, or giving or selling your spot to other teams, outside of the official registration process.

In case of an internet disruption, those teams who have posted will still hold their place, and the registration will continue on as the posts are logged. If you encounter website errors while signing up in the forum, continue trying to sign up. You are not considered signed up until your name and team name are shown on the forum as a time stamped post.

Anything Potato, Juarez Canyon Appetizer, Bud Best Burger and Dessert OVERALL SIDE CATEGORY $750 • GRAND CHAMPION $550 • RESERVE GRAND CHAMPION
(Must enter all 4 sides)

In addition Western Beverage will provide a prize to the top 3 winners in the burger category.

Also teams that enter all 4 side categories will receive a $25 rebate and be placed into a drawing for a FREE entry to next year's Juarez Canyon event.

To those teams that enter the Sides: PACIFIC SEAFOOD will provide 2lbs. BACON; JUAREZ CANYON will provide 5lbs. POTATOES and 4lbs. GROUND CHUCK. Please use all items provided to serve the Judges and the Sponsors’ Tasting Table. If not using any or all donated items in your entry for the Judging Table, you can use the items to provide an entry to the Sponsor’s Tasting Table (does not need to be same as what you presented to judges).

Dessert can be made off-site. PLEASE NO STORE-BOUGHT ENTRIES.
Entries are not guaranteed to be served in order of arrival at turn in table. If your entry requires it remain at constant temperature (heat or cold) during judging process that source must be provided by you and must not interfere with showing and serving of the entry. Suggested source for heat would be hot pack like item and suggested source for cold would be dry ice.

Your entries will be judged by the special guests and sponsors of this event, not certified judges. Please keep in mind, the judging process takes longer than it normally would.

Bud Best Burger

Standard competition fuel source should be primary fuel used. Open garnish with sturdy entry tray/platter limited to 20” x 20”. No alcohol, live animals, fire or tippy presentations allowed. Skewers, toothpicks are allowed but must be visible. While no Anheuser-Bush product is in your entry, Western Beverage has asked us to add some Bud props to this year's video so they can send it back to Anheuser-Bush.
Full size burgers: One whole for Appearance. Two cut in half for a total of three burgers required. Can be plated separately or together.
Slider size burgers: Six whole sliders. Can be plated separately or together.

We have payments from everyone who has signed up so far (thank you!), but we are still missing registration forms from the teams with a "*" next to their names on the list above. Unless you want your spot to be in the creek, please make sure you send your registration form in post haste, unless you are bringing a paddle.
