Hello BBQ Judges,
We have almost 40 registrations and have added another table - we still need assistance on Saturday & table captains for both days! Thank you!
Your services are required at the Washington State Spring BBQ Championships. This is a new 2 day event event being held at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe, Washington on Sunday April 29th.
Prior to the main competition - on Saturday April 28th, there is a CBJ class being offered at 9am, if you or someone you know is interested in attending you can register through the calendar section of the PNWBA website.
Here are the details for the competition day; please pay particular attention to the meeting time – as you are aware, your attendance at the meeting is mandatory, if you aren’t there on time your space will be filled by someone else. When signing up, please list your full name and PNWBA CBJ number so we can add you to the list. Don’t forget to bring your coolers & an ice pack for your leftovers, have a sensible breakfast with some fiber and remember no cologne or strong perfume please. There are no open categories at this event and it is a NO GARNISH contest.
Free parking is available on the east side of the fairgrounds.

Turn ins are at 3 & 4pm - judges meeting will be at 2:30pm in the judges area

Sean & Ed - we do not need anymore judges for either day but we do need table captains.
I am now gone for the weekend, travelling to Monroe.
If you would like to table captain please show up in time for the judges meetings and we will put you to work.

Good evening judges,
Thank you all for volunteering your time to come out for this event.
When you arrive at the Fairgrounds there is parking availiable on the east and west ends of the grounds. The parking lot on the west side is the closest. To get there come down State Route 2 (big highway) and turn onto 179th (light controlled intersection - Hospital to the south). Turn right into the parking lot.
Admission is free, parking is free.
If you will be staying at a local hotel the Best Western - Sky Valley Inn has an event discount availiable.
From the parking lot head east into the midway. You will see the teams & vendors. Bear to your right. Buildings 500 & 501 are located next to the charity booth & pit.

The team sites have changed a bit but the buildings ahve not moved.

Mike, all I have is "buildings 500", when you arrive on site just ask any of the BBQ teams where the competition turn in is, they will point you in the right direction.
Bryan, I am sure will weigh in with some more specific details when he can.

Bob will provide his CBJ# this evening. He will also let you know if they are available for Saturday.
These are two wonderful people who worked Monroe and Duvall last year - excellent hard working additions to the judging team.
