Michael Eckert, Tombstone BBQ will be our site manager and will get you in and out as best as you both can do.
I'll tell him to be on the lookout for you. Thanks for the heads up, JD.

Thanks Pat...we plan on buggin' out nlt 0730 after we drop Jake off...looks like a two hour(ish) drive...108 miles. If the traffic gods are favorable we should roll in before 10am...

I believe it's because of the car show, we've gotta be done unloading at 10am so they can bring in the show cars.

We can't drop Jake off at the kennel until 7am...we should be there by 10am...why the early load in times this year?

I see that we have to have our pits setup or cars unloaded by 10am. What time is pit/meat inspection to occur at?

We always try to have it with us when we are cooking in public. In this case it's MANDATORY for those sampling.
Submunch Posted - 07/05/2012 : 10:30:43
Food handlers needed regardless if you're smpling? Or only needed if you are sampling?

We're good, just trying to clarify as it came up in our discussion.

Less than a handful of days to go.
We have hit the magic number of 30 competition teams...Wow!
You know what that means. Reserve Champion (3rd place overall is also awarded) and your Board of Directors authorized a $400 check to go along with that Trophy! Nice, very nice!
We have a fantastic location and over the top promoters/hosts.
We have tons of our friends with us for what looks to be a beautiful weekend.
Meanwhile what will be a HUGE judging class with 30 students will also happen on Saturday along with a Cooking Class now with 7 complete teams of new cooks. That's about a perfect size, I think.
About 15 Chili entries and an Awards Ceremony for the Chili and for our newest members, the graduating Cooking Class who will have just finished wowing our new judges with their BBQ meats. We would love to have you all join us at 6pm for that brief Awards Ceremony and don't forget the potluck at 8pm Saturday night. Most of our teams are attending but if you've not yet signed up for that, there's still time. We could use a couple more creative entrees.
Those 17 teams who got their Health Dept forms in will be recieving pork Saturday to cook for Sunday sampling and don't forget, you keep 75% of what you take!
Hey, this is shaping up to be an awesome event in an awesome location with awesome freinds! You folks really came through. We'll see you all there and in the meanwhile, maybe you would take a moment to remember what a great nation we live in as we celebrate it's birthday tomorrow. Thank you all, again and God Bless America!
MADDOG Posted - 07/03/2012 : 15:16:58
You're in Patrick! Bring your $15. Make your chili. If ya win, I'll kick myself but good luck to you, anyway!
Submunch Posted - 07/03/2012 : 10:30:35
Looks like the judging class is all full now :( I might be cooking some chili now while Brian is sitting in the judging class :) How late can we sign up for the chili contest or too late already?
